OVERVIEW
Mariana practices civil and commercial litigation. Her main experience is in torts, insurance and health law, contract law and administrative and civil litigation.
Mariana received her undergraduate degree in Geography with concentration in Urban Planning from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus in 2012. Mariana then graduated magna cum laude from University of Puerto Rico School of Law in 2019. During her J.S. Mariana was teaching assistant to Dr. Glenda Labadie Jackson, professor at the University of Puerto Rico School of Law. Mariana did pro bono work with the National Association of Law Students (ANED), Legal Aid Hurricane Maria, Legal Aid Puerto Rico, Inc., and ENLACE with public schools. She was also member of the University of Puerto Rico Law Review from 2018 to 2019. Prior to joining Casellas Alcover & Burgos, P.S.C., she gained experience in both trial and appellate litigation as a judicial clerk for Hon. Roberto Sánchez Ramos of the Puerto Rico Court of Appeals and from working in other law firms.
Mariana is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the U.S. District Court for the District of Puerto Rico and the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.
