OVERVIEW
José joined Casellas Alcover & Burgos, P.S.C. in 2018 as a special counsel. Mateo’s main experience is in the health industry. He has counseled a wide variety of clients including physicians, third-party administrators, hospitals, emergency room managers, and hospitalist service providers.
During his school years from 1992 through 1996, José worked full time as a paralegal in the Litigation Division of Fiddler, Gonzalez & Rodriguez while also playing for the Puerto Rico National Baseball Team, which earned a fifth place in the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, a bronze medal in the Ponce 1993 Central American Games, and a bronze medal in the Argentina 1995 Pan Am Games. While in law school from 1996 through 1999, José continued his education while serving as a full-time law clerk.
José is a passionate advocate for the health industry. During his free time, he enjoys sports and is a baseball scout certified by the Major League Baseball Scouting Bureau.
